Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP offers great new ways to store and enjoy all your digital media. It's easier than ever to access all of your music, videos, pictures, and recorded TV on your computer. Play it, view it, organize it, or sync it to a portable device for enjoying on the go, or share with devices around your home—all from one place.
Windows Media Player 11 is designed to work with all editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and can also be used to restore Windows Media Player and related technologies to N and KN editions of Windows Vista.
When designing the new Windows Media Player, Microsoft considered the needs of a wide range of users—from people just getting started with digital media to discriminating audiophiles with very large collections on their PCs.
Music now has its own focused media category view, with a simpler list in the Navigation Pane that shows artists, albums, songs, genres, years, and ratings. By right-clicking Library and selecting Show More Views, you can customize the look of your collection any way you like.
One of the great things about having a large digital media library is the ability to burn custom CDs with your favorite tracks. The Burn tab in Windows Media Player 11 has been enhanced to make this even better.
